Since 1991, Kiley Court Gallery has represented a group of Cape-based artists who have developed styles to interpret the iconic beauty and light of the Cape Cod landscape in their own unique way. Located in the historic art district of Provincetown, MA, Kiley Court Gallery exhibits primarily oil painters who depict the sea, land, and architecture of the outer Cape. The works of Robert Cardinal, Julian Cardinal, Joan Cobb Marsh, Michael Davis, and Steve Kennedy showcase the variety of subjects available in the area, from the dunes and beach grass to boats and cottages. The time of day is equally as important as the subject itself, a key factor that can impact the entire composition. The artists use differing brush strokes and palettes to achieve a similar goal with their work. The ten featured paintings demonstrate just how different the landscape can appear, and how the inclusion or omission of certain details can completely transform a canvas.
