Out of Hibernation
The Bears Return - March 12 to 14

The bears are coming out of hibernation for a three-day gathering at land’s end during St. Patrick’s Weekend.

The Out of Hibernation event – a shorter version of the summer’s annual Bear Week – takes place from March 12 to 14. A pass is not required for the weekend’s events, so bears are welcome to just show up.
The weekend starts off with a performance by Kendall Kelly at The Crown and Anchor’s Cabaret. Kendall’s one-man act combines music, videos and comedy, all together mixing up into a kind of “modern multimedia vaudeville.” The performance starting at 9 p.m. has no cover charge. Comedian Mike Keren opens.
Next up Mr. Connecticut Leather is presenting a Bear and Cub Auction at The Crown’s Paramount Nightclub at 3 p.m. on March 13. Mr. CT Leather 2010 James Botelho is hosting the event, which will generate proceeds for the Soup Kitchen in Provincetown.
That evening the weekend-long celebration will continue at a Butch and Bruisers, Boots and Boxers Party at Paramount. Resident DJ Chris Racine will man the sound waves, and a clothing check will be available with payment of a $10 cover charge.
The weekend’s last event, an all-you-can-eat brunch at Michael Shay’s Restaurant, takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The Out of Hibernation event is jointly sponsored by the Provincetown Bears, the Northeast Ursamen and Mr. CT Leather.
