Triple-Delight Weekend

Why Wait for Memorial Day?

By now, the stirrings of spring fever have probably built to near fever-pitch, and nothing is better than a weekend away to Provincetown! With a bounty of activities to choose from in mid-May, you don't have to wait till Memorial Day weekend to play.

Those who are fans of gastronomic delights and beautiful art can indulge in our Restaurant Week and Gallery Stroll, from May 17-22. Participating restaurants will offer either a $25 and/or $35 prix-fixe, three-course menu, and over 20 of our great dining establishments will be part of the event, including Bayside Betsy's, the Central House at the Crown and Anchor, Lobster Pot, The Pointe, The Red Inn and Victors. A complete listing can be found at the Provincetown Tourism Office} web site. On May 18th, the Sage Inn and Lounge will be holding their Food Fair.

The Gallery Stroll will be held May 17th between 6-8 pm, when 20 galleries across town will open their doors to all visitors, and many will offer discounts. Whether you choose the museum environment of PAAM or the Provincetown Museum, photography at IONA Print Studio, or a retail gallery such as Sarah Jessica Fine Arts or Julie Heller's galleries, you'll find something beautiful and unique to suit your taste.

If shopping is your favorite pastime, then have we got a bounty for you! The Monumental Yard Sale weekend offers the shopper great bargains and fun as stores and home owners offer their discounted wares and family heirlooms at this town wide yard sale. Gale Force Bikes will offer bicycles, parts, accessories & apparel on sale, as well as furniture and household items, and sales at Blue Gallery and Heritage House, and the John Randall House will also be held. You never know what you'll find at this twice-a-year event (there's one in the fall, too) -- clothes, tools, media, antiques, oddball collectibles -- if you're on a quest for something unusual you'll probably find it here. Visit Provincetown Business Guild for an updated listing.

May 17-19 is also Single Women's Weekend! According to the Women Innkeepers of Provincetown, the hosts of the event, Single Women's Weekend is "designed specifically for single women, to take the long weekend to meet new friends, make new contacts, and hopefully meet your perfect match! It's a weekend of sisterhood, friendship, entertainment, food, dancing, and great activities to make this an unforgettable getaway in an amazing town." Activities include a dunes tour late Friday, meet-and-greet cocktail hour, Italian dinner buffet, comedy show with Poppy Champlin and the Cupid dance party later in the evening. On Saturday, you can try out speed dating with your morning coffee, take a scavenger hunt after lunch, take a harbor cruise of chill in the singles' clubhouse, attend a wine tasting followed by a three-course prix fixe dinner, party at the Flirtation dance in the evening, and finish off the night with a 1:00 am pizza meet up. The weekend closes out with a Women's Community Brunch at Bayside Betsy's at 10:00 am. See the website for a detailed schedule, locations and tickets.
