What’s better than an evening with friends, wine and a well-coursed meal?

An evening with friends, wine and a well-coursed meal that raises money for the Aids Support Group of Cape Cod.
The Aids Support Group will be hosting its popular “A Night at the Chef’s Table” for the 18th year in a row on June 5, and this year there are more than 60 Cape restaurants participating from Sandwich to Provincetown.
For the Chef’s Table fundraiser, the Cape’s most acclaimed chefs will serve more than 600 diners a full course meal, from appetizers to dessert. Wine will of course be on hand, ensuring the event is akin to a Cape-wide Dionysian rite.
Participating Provincetown restaurants include the Bistro at Crowne Pointe, Central House Bar & Grill, Ciro and Sal’s, Edwige at Night, Front Street, Lorraine’s, The Mews Restaurant and the Red Inn, among others.
In addition, this year the “Night at the Chef’s Table” will honor chef Nick Malgieri, a former executive pastry chef for Windows on the World. Malgieri has also written numerous books, and appeared on many television food shows.
Although the food’s what the night is all about, the fact that you are helping others as you indulge in epicurean delight, makes the evening a truly guilt-free. In particular, as you enjoy yourself, you are supporting the continuation of the AIDs Support Group of Cape Cod, which serves people living with HIV and AIDs through a number of programs.
The AIDs Support Group of Cape Cod (ASGCC) was founded in 1983 to serve the Provincetown area. In 1996, the organization became the lead agency for the Tri-County AIDs Consortium and began to service the entire Cape area, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket.
The ASGCC provides a multitude of services to individuals living with HIV and AIDs in these areas, including medical care referrals, anonymous testing, childcare, therapy, acupuncture, legal services, in-home care, and transportation. Through its Gay Men AIDs Prevention Project and Needle Exchange Program, the ASGCC also offers health education and prevention programs in the Barnstable County area. Its Foley House, located in Provincetown’s east end, provides shelter and care for HIV+ adults who are homeless.
Tickets for “A Night at the Chef’s Table” cost $75. To buy tickets or find out more information, call the ASGCC at 508.487.9445 (ext.33) or go to www.asgcc.org. You may also buy tickets by emailing events@asgcc.org. When you buy tickets, you will be able to select your top five preferred dining venues from the restaurant list. The last day to make reservations is May 30.
