Your fitness options in Provincetown and North Truro

December 30th, 2014

A new year often brings personal goals to get strong and fit. There is a wealth of opportunities in Provincetown and North Truro that will help the resolute achieve such a goal.

Make 2015 your best year ever!

What will work for you? Look at your options in 02657 and beyond below, each with its own website, for the chance to make 2015 your best year ever. Also, check out the board at 141 Bradford Natural Market for other offerings as they pop up over the winter.

TOWN RELATED:

Provincetown School’s Community Education 508.487.5020
Town of Provincetown Recreation Department and Council on Aging 508.487.7097 and 508.487.7080.

It’s great to see the former Veterans Memorial Elementary School (2 Mayflower Street) used as a haven for the youngest and oldest among us to connect and become healthier through exercise. Between three organizations housed within the building – Provincetown School Community Education, Town of Provincetown Council on Aging and Town of Provincetown Recreation Department - there is a stretch class, strength training, yoga, dance, open volleyball and basketball, Tai Chi and Zumba, a small weight room for a small annual fee and more, both free and paid.

GYMS/POOL:

There are two gyms in Provincetown with a pool club out in North Truro. Not bad for the end of the earth. All the facilities are very friendly, supportive, have their own unique vibe and group of long term members. How lucky are we residents and visitors to have multiple places to go on a rainy winter day? Super lucky.

Mussel Beach Health Club, 35 Bradford Street. 508.487.0001 A 2014 Best of the Cape and Islands Winner in Cape Cod Life, this gym offers lots. Daily spin and group classes are super popular with cardio and strength equipment on two floors. Well laid out, it is spacious even at busy times. 3 months. $299.00 and other rates available.

PTown Gym and Fitness, 81 Shank Painter Road, 508.487.2776 Three floors of amenities and equipment include a newly remodeled aerobics room hosing TRX, boxing and a Karate school for adults and children. An elevator is available for those who need it. 3 months. $299.00 and other offers.

Beach Point Health and Swim Club at the Top Mast Resort, 209 Shore Road, North Truro 508.487.7946 (SWIM). This is a place to have a pool party or get in your laps. It’s not large but works for most. A steam room, sauna and mini fitness center are also included in your $15.00 day pass. Look into their Resident plans and party rentals. Fun.
