Tel: 1 (508) 487-2100
Off Race Point Rd | Province Lands Visitor Center Parking Lot | Provincetown

Apr 14th, 2016 at 10AM
Cape Cod National Seashore is offering a special program called “To the Race!” During this three-hour program, a ranger will lead a walk through the Hatches Harbor area to visit Race Point Light. Learn about salt marsh restoration and how climate change is affecting the area, and view the exterior of Race Point Light. Afterwards, hike over the dune to reach Race Point, named for its strong currents. In the spring an upwelling of plankton makes this a great location for watching whales. A large percentage of the endangered North Atlantic right whale population passes through Cape Cod waters during the species’ spring migration. With luck, whales will be spotted during the walk.
