Provincetown Public Library will continue one of its most well-received initiatives every year: the Food for Fines program. Food for Fines enables patrons facing overdue book fines to get into the giving spirit and directly benefit needy families in the community by donating food items in place of Library late fees. Please bring non perishable food items to the main circulation desk to participate in this great program! Each donated food item will remove $5 worth of fees from patrons’ fine records. All goods will be given to the Provincetown United Methodist Church Food Pantry.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, including hundreds of Facebook posts from adopters of the animals. Along with Mahle, who has dedicated his life to helping dogs, readers meet the many others who also commit countless hours and funds to this lifesaving work.
