Got dogs? Bring them to Provincetown, which is paradise for them too! Whether you want nature romps, outdoor café dining, a place to lay your heads, or a treat for little Fiona, we offer multiple opportunities to pamper your pup!

What dog doesn't enjoy chasing a ball on the beach or into the water?

A variety of hotels and inns allow (and welcome!) your four-legged friend. The Harbor Hotel has the largest number of pet-friendly rooms (20)! If you prefer to be located closer to the center of activity, the John Randall House now offers two pet-friendly rooms, as well as two outdoor patios where you and your pal can hang out and relax! Further down Bradford Street, Gabriel's at the Ashbrooke Inn has increased the number of pet-friendly rooms from two to five! They offer a great location downtown, next to the Bas-Relief park (perfect for early-morning pit-stops)! They can also provide you with dog beds, bowls, organic dog treats, and and even offer leashes and pick-up bags if you forgot to bring them! For a more detailed list of pet-friendly lodging, visit the Provincetown Chamber of Commerce web site.

When you're hungry, there are some restaurants that welcome your pet in their outdoor seating areas, including Bubala's, the The Patio, the Waterford Inn Café and Tavern, and the "doggie dining area" at the the Crown and Anchor! You and your dog will want to stop at Ptown Scoops where you can enjoy a choice of 27 flavors, and your dog can have a scoop of their special doggie-ice cream treats!

With the Cape Cod National Seashore in our back yard, there are all kinds of interesting places for dogs -- and their owners -- to explore! Canine pals just love our beaches at Herring Cove and Race Point, and as long as you leash your dog (length is unrestricted), they will have a blast chasing Frisbees and balls in those stunning spots! What dog doesn't enjoy chasing a ball into the water?? You and your pet can even indulge in an off-leash early evening walk on Town beaches! Memorial Day through November 1st, off-leash hours are 6AM to 9AM and 6PM to 9PM.

Since our pals are social animals, they enjoy nothing as much as the company of other dogs, so a visit to the Pilgrim Bark Park is a must for you and your best friend! The park is a fenced acre of land where dogs can run free and socialize off-leash. There is a general dog section and a section exclusively for dogs under 25 pounds! There are benches and structures for your pal to climb, space for games of fetch, and other dogs to meet and play with!

For toys, treats, or everyday care items, we've got you covered! You'll find gifts for pets and pet lovers at Friends of Heart, or choose from a wide variety of pet clothing, gear, organic toys and gourmet dog cookies at Paws & Whiskers (259 Commercial)! Cape Treasures (349 Commercial) also has a nice collection of dog and cat toys, and is currently having an end-of-season sale with 50% savings on all items.

Finally, don't miss "Pet Appreciation Weekend" from September 26-29th! Events include pet parades, photo contests, Olympic-style Canine Games, and even a pet tea dance! The weekend is sponsored by, and benefits Carrie A. Seaman Animal Shelter, a vital Provincetown non-profit no-kill animal shelter for homeless dogs and cats. If you don't already have a best furry friend, you might find one there!
